Meet Our Staff

Rick Roberts
Lead Pastor

Pastor Rick and his family came to

Troy First Baptist Church in 2018. He is the teaching and preaching pastor as well as the leader of our congregation. His main goal in life is to see people come to know Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and then see them actively involved in growing in and living out their Christian faith. Pastor Rick believes that the church should always be impacting the culture and world with the good news of Jesus and through loving involvement seek to make positive changes whether physical, emotional, environmental, or spiritual. Personally, Rick enjoys reading, fishing and playing guitar as hobbies. His favorite authors are C. S. Lewis, K. Chesterton, Ravi Zacharias, and N. T. Wright.

Rick has two favorite Bible verses which are Psalm 119:105 and John 3:16-17.
Rick’s passions are knowing the riches of God’s Word and preaching and teaching it

and, of course, spending time with family.

Morgan Norris

Children’s Director

Troy First Baptist is home to her. She gave her  heart to Jesus at the age of seven at Vacation Bible School. She’s  seen TFBC grow and flourish by the grace of God in many ways. In 2016, she received her B.S. in Leadership & Cultural Studies from the University of Mobile. God led her to this position in 2017 when she and her  husband, Casey, moved back home after being away for a few years. They now have a beautiful baby girl, Gabby, who joined them on Mother’s Day 2019!

Morgan’s  mission as the Children’s Director at TFBC is to introduce the love of Jesus to the lives of the children and lead them into a relationship with Him. Her desire is to see them have a love for God and others around them.

Morgan’s favorite verse is Jeremiah 29:11
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.”

Todd Smith
Director of Jr. High

Todd graduated from Obion County Central High School in 2015, and is a recent graduate from the University of Tennessee at Martin.
Todd has always called Troy First Baptist home, and is humbled to be able to guide the same ministry he was once  apart of.
Outside of the office, you can find him watching baseball or at Taco Bell.
Todd’s mission here at TFBC is for students to gain a longing relationship with Christ, and to equip them to build disciples.

His favorite Bible verse is:

Psalms 19:14
“May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable to you, Lord, my rock and my Redeemer”.

Megen Miller

Megen is married to Zach, and have three wonderful sons, Peyton, Porter, and Greyson. She is a lifelong member of TFBC, and also is a 2nd grade teacher at Hillcrest Elementary here in Troy.
Before becoming the Preschool Director, Megen has also  served in our extended sessions rotation and served as a Sunday school teacher since 2004.
Megen loves to play outside with her boys, fishing with her husband, and being with family.

Her favorite Bible verse is

Psalm 139:13-14.
For you created my inmost being;
you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful, I know that full well.

Cindy Parker
Secretary

Cindy is happily married to her best friend Lee for 35 years. Together they have 4 children, and  7 grandchildren. Cindy and family joined TFBC in September of 1998, and came on staff in February of 2003. Cindy says “Becoming the secretary at TFBC was definitely a God thing. I was very timid around a computer and afraid I would mess something up. But through God’s grace and a patient trainer I learned what I needed in order to fulfill my duties. Along with my computer skills my relationship with the Lord has grown, and I treat my job here as my own ministry. Through talking or praying with people coming by the office, to helping folks in the community. TFBC is a wonderful place to come together with other believers to worship,
fellowship, and grow.

Cheryl Kirk
Financial Secretary

Cheryl has been married 31 years to her wonderful husband Jimmy. She is blessed with awesome children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren as well. She has been a part of TFBC since May of 2012, and a part of our staff since April of 2015. Cheryl says “I was fortunate to become financial secretary, and try to serve the Lord to the best of my ability in this position. Thank you TFBC family for allowing me to be part of a staff and committees that I am blessed to work with.
